En esta parte de la costa podrá apreciar numerosas especies de aves residentes y migratorias. Entre las que más se encuentran están los pelícanos, la gaviota gris, zarcillo, rayador, chorlo ártico, Chuita, guanay, el cóndor, el pingüino de Humboldt (en peligro de extinción) y los flamencos, entre otras especies.

Toda esta zona es ideal para degustar excelente comida hecha a base de pescados y mariscos frescos del día, siendo el plato más típico el tradicional ceviche peruano, cuyo ingrediente principal es fino pescado blanco y cocido a base de limón. Luego del almuerzo retornamos a la agencia.

Después de haber disfrutado del paisaje, recorrido por el desierto, practicado sandboard empieza nuestro retorno a la cuidad donde termina nuestro servicio.

Huacachina significa ‘mujer que llora’ en quechua. Cuenta la leyenda que esta laguna nace de las lágrimas de una hermosa mujer de ojos verdes, que lloraba la muerte de su amado.

Pero la laguna está llena de vida: desde sus palmeras y huarangos, hasta las aves que descansan en sus aguas, sus peces y las discretas criaturas de las dunas que la rodean. Una biodiversidad riquísima y ahora protegida, al declararse la Huacachina y el desierto subtropical a su alrededor como Área de Conservación Regional.
